We are putting a penny floor in The Boise Jewell.
This was our first session gluing pennies to the floor.
Gluing pennies, first session
Gluing pennies, across the doorway
Gluing pennies, into the center
Gluing pennies, seven more rows
We sort the pennies into three groups: shiny, dark and middle.
We do it in sections of about $25 each session.

We put down a single coat of black epoxy to get the background color.
We waterproofed the corners first.

So many people contributed penny rolls and collections. It has helped make the floor meaningful. But we needed so many more.
More than once ICCU told us they don't do pennies anymore.
Then one teller said, "I think we do have pennies." It was her second day. She had not been trained yet in the ways of telling members that pennies are no longer available. She let us withdraw $100.

We started with a penny drive. Friends and family brought us pennies.
Thank you to everyone who contributed. The pennies are going into the floor of The Boise Jewell.
